US Forest Service Cannot Burn the West Fast Enough

Federal ownership and control of land has been a contentious issue since the founding of our country.  The Constitution specifies the limits of federal land ownership and control for certain purposes, specifically an enclave to be the seat of the federal government not to exceed 10 square miles and land for building forts, magazines, arsenals, dockyards, post offices, and post roads.  Those provisions are all found in Article I, Section 8 and are defined in specific terms. 

The same constitutional section contains the “necessary and proper” clause and allows for “other needful buildings” which permits a wide range of possibilities based on legislative agendas.  Clearly, the federal government is allowed to acquire land and erect facilities needed to carry out constitutionally enumerated powers such as tax offices and airport runways. 

The public associates government land ownership with National Parks and Monuments which comprise only 12% of federal property.  The popularity of Parks and Monuments conceals the fact that the remaining 88% of federal land has no specific public value.  The purpose of federal acquisition of these lands is to restrict economic use and private land ownership as part of the fascist agenda of the global elite.

Private ownership of land is the foundation of individual freedom and the free market economy.  The United Nation’s goal of one world fascist governance can only be achieved by eliminating private property rights by confiscation, regulation, or taxation.  The Endangered Species Act served as the basis for the Wildlands Project, a UN plan for the “re-wilding” of America using multiple protected habitats for endangered species interconnected by migration corridors in which human activity was prohibited.  In 1994, the UN Wildlands Treaty came before the US Senate for ratification.  At that debate, Senator Kay Baily Hutchinson unveiled a map of the United States showing that humans would only be allowed to live in restricted enclaves.  The treaty failed to pass.

But the Wildlands Treaty and its proponents did not go away.  It has now reappeared as part of Climate Change hysteria and the Green New Deal.  By the year 2030, the federal government intends to own 30% of the land in the United States as part of the 30 by 30 plan. 

In addition to the original ESA and Wildland’s Project, the federal government has numerous newer and novel tools to steal land from the people.  The bureaucrats in multiple federal agencies are busy writing land use rules and regulations that prevent the landowner from actually using his own land.  Once you become a victim of the federal bureaucracy, fighting for your rights in administrative hearings can be a long and exasperating process.

The US Forest Service has been part of the federal land grab activity for many years under the guise of protecting forests and the natural species that live in them from destruction.  The problem is that the US Forest Service does not have the funds or ability to take care of the land they control.  As one example, Congress requires the Forest Service to maintain favorable conditions for creeks and streams and the harvest of timber for the country’s needs.  Part of that system is the maintenance of forest service roads that allow access to clean up deadfall, to clear waterways, and to fight fires that occur naturally especially those that endanger private property, animals, and human beings.  When deadfall and erosion make Forest Service roads impassable, there is no access for timber harvesting, recreation, and fighting forest fires.

As if all that is not bad enough, the federal government has embarked on land theft programs that actually endanger human life and safety.  The reintroduction of gray wolves into Yellowstone after 70 years puts humans in direct proximity with a lethal predator as does the introduction of black bears.  The reintroduction of the Jaguar into the Gila National Wilderness was recently blocked.  These animals are protected so they cannot be killed by humans.  Unfortunately, humans are not legally protected. 

Lack of proper forest management for decades has created national forests so cluttered with deadfall that wildfires are a significant threat to private property, local economy, and human life.  To reduce that risk, the US Forest Service is intentionally starting fires.  Initially called “controlled fires” and “prescription burns”, government wordsmiths selected “managed burns” to suggest the practice was harmless. 

Nothing could be further from the truth.  Managed burns are actually designed to destroy large forest areas.  Once started, the areas outside the original “prescribed burn” are purposefully ignited to be sure the fire area extends as far as possible.  Lacking sufficiently trained personnel, the US Forest Service cannot guarantee the safety of neighboring communities with the unfortunate loss of homes, businesses, and lives.  In addition, the smoke and particulate matter in the air is a serious health risk for children and older people with heart and lung disease as well as wildlife.

We have all become victims of the Bureaucratic State made up of nameless, faceless bureaucrats who craft the rules and regulations by which we are all forced to live.  They are the unelected lawmakers over whom we have no direct control.  The Bureaucracy has created its own system of administrative “law” procedures that, like quicksand, easily engulfs and suffocates those who seek redress of grievances.  Federal agencies like the US Forest Service quickly realize that We the People are powerless to intervene against their agendas.

Every successful large-scale assault on public health has been accomplished with the cooperation and blessing of lots of good people who were convinced that the harm that they were causing their fellow citizens was acceptable in the pursuit of a “higher goal”.
