Easter Special with Pastor Hoyt Brown

Good Friday and Easter Sunday are very significant times for all people, especially people of faith.  Historically, the events memorialized by Easter are linked to the Jewish holiday of Passover, a celebration of the freedom of the Children of Israel from slavery in Egypt.

Jesus and his disciples were celebrating the customary Passover meal when, betrayed by Judas, Jesus was arrested by the Romans.  The story of the torture and crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth by the Romans reminds us of the base and cruel nature of humanity without the constraint of a moral code.

Forced to carry his cross, beaten and scourged by Roman soldiers, wearing a crown of thorns, Jesus was crucified and died a painful death on the cross.  After his death, he was bathed and clothed in the Jewish fashion and placed in a tomb, closed by a rock and sealed by the Romans.  Three days later, on Sunday, when the seal was broken and the stone rolled away, only the clothes remained.  As prophesied, JESUS OF NAZARETH, resurrected from the dead, had RISEN.

For Christians, Easter Sunday, specifically the RESURRECTION of JESUS CHRIST, is the VALIDATION of our FAITH.

On Freedom Forum Radio’s Easter Special this weekend, Pastor Hoyt Brown of the Old Fashioned Baptist Church in Martins Creek community, Murphy, North Carolina, will discuss the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ and our Lord’s message to humanity.

Dr. Dan invites you to listen to and share Pastor Brown’s message of hope and salvation on Freedom Forum Radio.
