The Progressive Left’s Politically Correct Guide to American History

Over the course of human history, men have, on occasion, claimed the ability to foretell the future. With the passage of time, however, the majority have been exposed as frauds, with very few actually taking a place in history under the heading of “prophet”. But most of us are all too familiar with one man whom history is proving was a truly gifted prophet.
In his famous novel 1984, George Orwell describes his vision of the totalitarian superstate of Oceania (aka the US) ruled by “Big Brother” and political elitists of the “Inner Party”. In Oceania,
“thought police” are tasked with eliminating “thoughtcrimes,” and the “Ministry of Truth” is responsible for “fixing” “mistakes” in historical documents that do not conform with Big Brother’s agenda.
the government created and imposed a mandatory simplistic but difficult language called “newspeak” to replace “old speak.” The purpose of newspeak was to limit self-expression and independent thinking, inhibit interpersonal communication, encourage conformity of thought, and make it easier to control the people.
propaganda posters everywhere remind that “Big Brother is Watching,” always watching, and completely contradictory “doublethink” slogans like “War is Peace,” “Freedom is Slavery,” and “Ignorance is Strength” are used to manipulate and brainwash the people into believing both are true based on the state of affairs in Oceania on any given day and Big Brother’s agenda.
In 2017, it is with both sadness and fear that readers of 1984 are beginning to realize how eerily accurate and perceptive George Orwell was back in 1948 when he wrote the novel . . . One might even begin to wonder that the novel may not be fiction after all . . .
Our nation is on a progressive course toward a state of anarchy and, potentially, a descent into a tyranny from which recovery may not be possible. Many have written about and described in detail every historical step we have taken down this road. It is important that each of us understand the mechanisms that are being used to destroy our nation.
In essence, the primary stratagem of the progressive left is to deconstruct our current society by separating people from their past in order to construct a new present leading to the desired future. For decades, students in public schools at all educational levels have been taught a sanitized politically correct version of past events that satisfies and communicates an agenda rather than the truth. Facts that contradict the liberal story line are edited, amended, or eliminated.
Throughout history, every dictator, upon achieving power, has changed and even eradicated the nation’s history in order to consolidate control and bind the population’s allegiance to his regime. In Exodus Chapter 1, Verse 8, the Pharoah who “knew not Joseph” was most likely the leader of an African tribe that conquered the Egyptian regime under which the children of Israel had lived in peace for generations. The powerful and the educated always present the greatest threat to tyrants and are therefore ridiculed, tortured, and even killed. The Cambodian tyrant Pol Pot murdered people wearing glasses, as that was seen as a sign of intelligence.
Today, in our nation, we are seeing the physical destruction of our history with the removal of all reminders of any historical figure or event that doesn’t conform to the accepted, but often conveniently manufactured, philosophy of the mob. Our society has already been transformed. Once we were a nation of free individuals with a common allegiance to our history and to our flag and the Republic for which it stands. Instead, we have become an assembly of group-thinking lemmings without a unifying foundation.
In 1984, Orwell’s description of society is dangerously close to ours today:
Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered, and the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the party is always right.

Dan….quite a great coup to have Bill Federer joining you …on radio and in person! Go Dan! I love your article today, too. As it turns out, Orwell’s literary contribution titled1984 could be called non-fiction, but with the caveat that “the names have been changed to protect the innocent.” I think he knew the plan and gave it to us….it certainly seems too close to reality to pass it off as fiction now.
Hope you are doing great….thanks for all you do!
Cheryl
Right ON !!! Will be sharing with several friends – some who will take umbrage as it hits them in the gut.

“History,” it is said, “is the projection of ideology into the past.”
